Yak-itty Yak



This plucky little craft is the Soviet Union's Yak-9, the airplane that became legend for scrubbing Russian skies clear of the Luftwaffe. Germany decimated the Soviet Union's air force at the start of its invasion of that country in 1941, but these little planes managed to claw back mastery of the skies for the USSR.
